Twede’s Cafe Has A History

Posted on February 4, 2020 by Amber Posted in Restaurant Reviews .

Today, we are eating at Twede’s Cafe in Washington! This Cafe actually used to be in a TV show, more information at their website. The waiter was very friendly, since he didn’t know our names, he called us the color of our shirts. It was cute and funny. The food tasted good and was overpriced for a small town diner. I guess you pay for the “fame”. It was also very retro and 80’s themed. Of course, we had no idea about the history until we ordered.

Ocqueoc Falls

Posted on February 3, 2020 by Amber Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Ocqueoc Falls, the only publicly accessible waterfall in the Lower Peninsula Michigan. We had tons of fun in the water, even though it was very COLD! Dad was actually brave enough to sit in the water! I didn’t really want to get in the water because it was cold and cloudy but I did anyway! Kaylla and Elizabeth got in the water and walked around a bit. We explored the area near the water as well, and it was very cool and peaceful!

We got merch! https://www.teechip.com/stores/livingcoast2coast

RV Renovation To Add Shelves

Posted on January 8, 2020 by Amber Posted in How-To .

Today, we are adding some more shelves to the bunk house. We decided since we don’t use the bed on the back wall, so we converted it to a shelf. The conversion was fairly simple, we bought plywood and some smoothed surfaced plywood for the shelves. We measured the bed dimensions of the bed and then cut the wood so it would fit the bed properly. We came up with a design then basically just built the shelves. The shelves help with the storage, so that’s a plus!

Shocking Paranormal Activity In The Bird Cage Theatre

Posted on January 6, 2020 by Amber Posted in Sightseeing .

Today, we are exploring the paranormal activity inside the Bird Cage Theatre. Everything is this video that you see/hear is REAL!

The Bird Cage was the most famous “honky-tonk” in America between 1881 and 1889. In the 9 years that the Bird Cage was open, it had been open 24/7, 7 days a week. Before the Bird Cage closed in ’89, there had been 16 gunfights and 140 bullet holes, which are still in the building to this day. The Bird Cage also has had many deaths there.

When the mines flooded, the Bird Cage was never ruined by the water. But because the mines flooded, the owners of the Bird Cage decided to close their doors, but left everything inside, optimistic that somebody would later open the mines again. But when the owners came back in 1934 and saw that everything in the building was still intact, the Bird Cage then became a historical landmark.

The Bird Cage Theatre was rated #1 Most Haunted Landmark in America and had been investigated by 3 different paranormal teams. Knowing all of this information, we decided to check it out for ourselves. We walked in as skeptics and left as believers.

Week In Review (Season 3 Week 26)

Posted on December 24, 2019 by Amber Posted in RV Living, Sightseeing .

Today, we get the pleasure of exploring the Cactus Forest (Saguaro National Park West). I thought it was going to be a forest with cactus, but I was wrong. It was just rolling hills of cactus, tons and tons of cactus! But there were also cactus that looked liked trees, we called them cactus trees, but we aren’t entirely sure what they are actually called! If anyone who does know what they are, put it in the comment section below! We also ate Silly Al’s, their pizza tasted delicious and they had a band preforming that night too. All in all, Arizona treated us well.

HOW-TO: Install Bunk Bed Shelves

Posted on December 11, 2019 by Amber Posted in How-To .

Today, Amber and Rick built some shelves to go along with the new bed they also built. The “bed” Amber used to sleep in was a jack-knife couch which turned into a bed when you folded it down. Amber and Rick took the couch out to build the new bed. They also decided to make some shelves since they had room. The shelves had to be secured to the slide wall, so they didn’t get any “fancy” ideas, LOL! The shelves also couldn’t be very thick or else there wouldn’t have been enough room for the mattress. So with all these things in mind, they successfully built a “functioning” shelf! It is now painted a Granite Grey and holds enough of Amber’s stuff!

Mission: Accomplished

Welcome To Tombstone: The Town To Tough To Die

Posted on December 9, 2019 by Amber Posted in Sightseeing .

Today, we are taking a blast to the past! We are touring Tombstone, Arizona where the west comes back to life! Tombstone was famous for the shoot out back in 1881, where Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp took on some cowboys at the O.K. Corral. It is said 30 bullets were fired in 30 seconds! Tombstone is now one of the most visited places in America! It is also one of the most haunted in America because of the murders. Tombstone has everything for everyone is the family! From a visitor center, shops, dining, and even a stage coach tour of Tombstone! It was very fun to visit and can’t wait to go back!

Thumbs Up Antelope Island

Posted on November 18, 2019 by Amber Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today we are hanging out with some more family members and visiting Antelope Island. Fun fact, the island doesn’t actually have any antelope on the island, only buffalo! The island was actually in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. It had amazing views but was HOT! You should take a visit if you are near.
