We will try to add every RV park and campground that we visit here. The longer we stay, the more information we can provide.

Balanced Rock Park Review

Posted on April 8, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds .

The Balanced Rock Park is an awesome find in the middle of nowhere. We were literally driving through flat farm land and these rocks appear in the near distance barely visible. The road starts winding and going down and further down.

All of a sudden, a gorgeous canyon appears and there is a park at the bottom. And this park allows free camping for 30 days out of a 30 day period. Of course, it’s dry camping also known as boondocking. No electric, water, or sewer hookups. There is only a couple of spots that a medium to larger rig can set up. That is the only drawback. We did stay the full 7 days allowed.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

REVIEW Denny Creek Campground

Posted on April 7, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds .

Denny Creek Campground is located in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and is nestled between the eastbound and westbound sides of Interstate 90 in Washington state.

The creek is really nice and Dad and the girls walked to 1.5 mile trail to Franklin Falls which was gorgeous. There will be a separate video for the hike.

The campground does not have many sites that will fit larger trailers. Some sites have 30amp electric available even though the website days it is 15amp.

Walk with Dad on a tour of the campground.

REVIEW Early Winters Campground

Posted on March 31, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds .

Early Winters Campground is located in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and is very close to the east side of North Cascades National Park. However, we did not go into the National Park from here. We just chilled out for a few days and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

If you are looking for campgrounds to stay while visiting North Cascades National Park, we recommend that you watch one of these videos.

REVIEW Blue Lake RV Resort

Posted on March 24, 2021 by Rick Posted in Campgrounds .

We had planned to stay at the Fairgrounds in Naples, Idaho but could not determine where to go for the campground. A quick search found the Blue Lake RV Resort and it’s bottomless lake.

Is it really bottomless? Probably not. But they say the equipment can only truly determine a depth of 100 feet but it is not a solid bottom. Either way, it is a small lake that it deeper than a lot of big lakes and reservoirs.

The campground itself is pretty tight as far as parking. It does have heated floors in the bathroom and showers. And the showers have really hot water. So that is nice.

Walk with us as we tour the campground.

REVIEW Emery Bay Campground

Posted on March 17, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds .

We chose the Emery Bay Campground primarily because the were no open spots in the Glacier National Park campgrounds for a rig our size. Emery Bay Campground is about 15 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier National Park and is located in the Flathead National Forest .

It does not have very many sites that would accommodate our rig. hehe… we got the last one. It is located on the Hungry Horse Reservoir and even has a boat ramp. It, however, does not have very good access to the water to swim or play. There is a few places not too far away to get in the water. It worked out great for us as a single place to stay that had water access and Glacier National Park close enough to get to easily.

REVIEW Lost Horse Corridor Camping

Posted on March 3, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds .

We were lucky to find this great spot to boondock. Although it is technically a campground, there were no hookups of any kind. There was not a trash can anywhere. Truly a place to PACK IT IN – PACK IT OUT.

We were on the end near the bridge which had a great spot to get into the cold water in August. Mom’s leg was still in bad shape and she did not go down to the water.

We had no cell signal here but was able to pick up a usable signal with our weBoost 4G Signal Booster. We highly recommend using one of these if staying connected is important to you. Here is link to Amazon where you can get one.

Killpecker Sand Dunes – Boondocking Review

Posted on February 25, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds, Sightseeing .

Sand Dunes were great. You can park anywhere and there are pit toilets and trash pickup. There is NO electric, water, or sewer.

Watch the video to see what kind of drone problems that we encountered.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

REVIEW Newton Creek Campground near Yellowstone

Posted on February 24, 2021 by Rick Posted in Boondocking, Campgrounds .

Newton Creek Campground is located in the Shoshone Nation Forest and was a great place to stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park especially when you can’t get into a campground in Yellowstone due to capacity or RV size.

This campground is about 15 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park and 37 miles from Cody, Wyoming. The campground was very empty during the week but filled up on the weekend.

The campground is a very relaxing place nestled along the North Fork Shoshone River. It has a few access point to the river where the water is not very deep and is safe to play.

REVIEW Reel Livin’ Resort and Campground

Posted on January 13, 2021 by Rick Posted in Campgrounds .

We stayed here at the Reel Livin’ Resort and Campground for 7 days since we had family staying in one of the cabins. The girls had fun fishing and spending time with them. Come take a look.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Newhalem Creek Campground

Posted on March 25, 2020 by Kaylla Posted in Campgrounds .

This is Newhalem Creek Campground. In 2015, there was a fire in loop C which is where we stayed for about a week. The road into there was a one lane road. So you have to wait at the light in order to go. This campground had a dump station that we could use and it had fresh water which we like. This was a cool and clean campground.
