Yaak Falls

Posted on June 3, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Dad and Elizabeth explore Yaak Falls in western Montana. The rock formations are a bit unique for waterfalls that we have seen.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Shoshone Falls – Ain’t She Pretty?

Posted on May 20, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Shoshone Falls is the most gorgeous waterfalls that we have seen. We think they are even better than Niagara Falls in New York. Come with us we take a look.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Would You Jump Off The Perrine Bridge?

Posted on May 13, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

I personally would not jump off a bridge that is more than a few feet high. The girls say that that would love it. Even though we did not jump off, we did enjoy looking at the beauty of the bridge from underneath.

The Snake River Canyon is magnificent with steep walls in most places. Just west of the bridge is a golf course at the bottom of the canyon. East of the bridge around the bend is apparently where the daredevil Evil Knievel tried to jump the Snake River Canyon in 1974.

The bridge has a parking area on each side on the north end as well a walkway to get underneath. This makes it easy to view the bridge from underneath.

We visited several spots along the canyon and some of those appear in other videos.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Where did the twin go? – Twin Falls Park

Posted on May 6, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

There was once a double waterfall at this location. But no more. In the early 1900s, one side was blocked off in order to build a hydroelectric powerplant. We were hoping to see the twins but could not.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Is The Horse Hungry? – Hungry Horse Reservoir

Posted on April 1, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

We checked out the Hungry Horse Reservoir. We found a spot where we could drive down next to the water. The rocks were so colorful.

We then went over to the Hungry Horse Dam. It is tenth tallest dam in the United States and the third tallest curved dam. It is over 500 feet tall so you know the water is deep. It features a glory hole for when the water level gets too high. The water will flow into the glory hole and drop 490 feet straight down.

Check out the video and let us know what you think.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Posted on February 11, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Garden Creek Falls is gorgeous waterfall at the base of Casper Mountain.

We enjoyed it because you can walk right up to it and get in the water that is falling. Watch the video to see what Dad did.

Exploring Fremont Canyon and Alcova Lake

Posted on February 4, 2021 by Amber Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Dad’s cousin, Paul, took us out on his boat and we had a great time. We give you a look at both ends of the canyon and tell you a horrific story from many years ago.

Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site

Posted on January 28, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery .

We have been to Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site many times since we have family in the area.

The trails down through the canyons are amazing whether you are walking or riding an ATV like we usually do here. The scenery is gorgeous all around. The is no cell service in the Archaeological Site or campground.

However, you can can a faint signal about a quarter mile outside of the gates. People refer to this spot as cell phone hill.

Only 5 of the campsites are reservable and the rest are first come first served. No amenities at the sites but water is available.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Hiking to Upper Paint Rock Lake in the Bighorn Mountains

Posted on January 21, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Paint Rock Lakes were one of my Dad’s favorite places and I had never been (at least not that I can remember).

The lakes are at a super high elevation and you can hear that in the video when I am trying to breath. This hike was not that long but we are not used to the elevation.

Lower Paint Rock Lake is out in the open in a field while Upper Paint Rock Lake is nestled in the trees and rocks. Can you guess which one we prefer?

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.
