Hiking Ross Dam Trail

Posted on July 1, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Join us as we hike down to Ross Dam (almost).

We were going downhill and realized that it might be a hard climb back up. We decided to continue. Well, we got down far enough that we could see the dam and we became concerned with the weather. So we turned around and started the upward climb. Elizabeth did not want to get wet and kept trying to run ahead but poor Dad was having to take multiple breaks. Fortunately, Mom was safe and sound in the truck this whole time.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

What in the World? Windmill Garden

Posted on June 17, 2021 by Rick Posted in Sightseeing .

We just happened to see this quirky little windmill garden along the road and we had to stop. The windmills were made from all kinds of household items.

Please enjoy with us.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Did She Cross the Swinging Bridge at Kootenai Falls?

Posted on June 10, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today, we are exploring the wonders of Kootenai Falls in western Montana! The falls and river were very strong and a crystal light blue. The view was beautiful and the best part I would have to say was the swinging bridge that went over the river. While it was terrifying, it was also an adrenaline rush and the view from the bridge was absolutely positively amazing. Kaylla did not cross the bridge and Elizabeth initially had some difficulty. Elizabeth ultimately made it with the promise of ice cream as a reward.

10 out of 10 recommend and I would go back for another visit.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Shoshone Ice Caves – Enter At Your Own Risk

Posted on May 27, 2021 by Kaylla Posted in Sightseeing .

Welcome to Shoshone Ice Caves…

This cave is about 100 feet down and stays about 28 degrees year round. And Dad (Rick) was sweating. This cave is actually a lava tube formed by a volcano erupting. There is evidence of lava tubes collapsing in the area. You can even see lava rocks everywhere. We had so much fun at the Shoshone Ice Caves.

Shoshone Falls – Ain’t She Pretty?

Posted on May 20, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Shoshone Falls is the most gorgeous waterfalls that we have seen. We think they are even better than Niagara Falls in New York. Come with us we take a look.

Would You Jump Off The Perrine Bridge?

Posted on May 13, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

I personally would not jump off a bridge that is more than a few feet high. The girls say that that would love it. Even though we did not jump off, we did enjoy looking at the beauty of the bridge from underneath.

The Snake River Canyon is magnificent with steep walls in most places. Just west of the bridge is a golf course at the bottom of the canyon. East of the bridge around the bend is apparently where the daredevil Evil Knievel tried to jump the Snake River Canyon in 1974.

The bridge has a parking area on each side on the north end as well a walkway to get underneath. This makes it easy to view the bridge from underneath.

We visited several spots along the canyon and some of those appear in other videos.

This is part of our Season 3 Part 2 and was filmed in the second half of 2019.

Where did the twin go? – Twin Falls Park

Posted on May 6, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

There was once a double waterfall at this location. But no more. In the early 1900s, one side was blocked off in order to build a hydroelectric powerplant. We were hoping to see the twins but could not.

Is The Horse Hungry? – Hungry Horse Reservoir

Posted on April 1, 2021 by Rick Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

We checked out the Hungry Horse Reservoir. We found a spot where we could drive down next to the water. The rocks were so colorful.

We then went over to the Hungry Horse Dam. It is tenth tallest dam in the United States and the third tallest curved dam. It is over 500 feet tall so you know the water is deep. It features a glory hole for when the water level gets too high. The water will flow into the glory hole and drop 490 feet straight down.

Check out the video and let us know what you think.
