Thumbs Up Antelope Island

Posted on November 18, 2019 by Amber Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today we are hanging out with some more family members and visiting Antelope Island. Fun fact, the island doesn’t actually have any antelope on the island, only buffalo! The island was actually in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. It had amazing views but was HOT! You should take a visit if you are near.

Week In Review (Season 3 Week 19)

Posted on November 12, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Campgrounds, RV Living, Scenery, Sightseeing .

First, we went to the Sea Lion Caves.
This place was really cool looking at all the sea lions.
I loved this place so much I even drew a “cowboy sea lion” when we got back to the house.

Then we moved on to the Depoe Bay whale watching place.
We even caught a tail on video… yay.
The boat ride was really cool, we got to not only see whales but jellyfish too.

We also took a stop by West Coast Game Park Safari.
We got to feed and pet many different animals.
I got a kick outta watching the bears wave when you shake your food cone at them.

The campgrounds were clean and quiet.
The Alder Dune Campground was basically empty. There was no one but us, the camp host, and one other person.
The Cape Blanco Campground filled up really fast every night but that aside, this was a really nice campground.

Shoshone Ice Caves

Posted on November 11, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Welcome to Shoshone Ice Caves.

This ice cave is really cool and historical place to see.

A young boy discovered this ice cave.

In the 1880s, the cave was an ice source for the town of Shoshone.
They shipped the ice out west. Inside the ice cave it has a slick wet board “bridge” to get down to the back of the cave.

The cave has about 5 feet of ice below you so you can’t break it.

It was about $32 for Dad, Amber, Elizabeth, and me Kaylla to get in there. It was really fun to explore.

Southern Loop – Yellowstone National Park

Posted on October 31, 2019 by Amber Posted in RV Living, Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today we are visiting the Yellow Stone National Park Southern Loop. This loop contains Old Faithful, Gibbon Falls and other cool things. The southern loop is probably my favorite part of Yellowstone. It has a lot of waterfalls and trails as well. It is very beautiful like the rest of the park.

And in the words of Jupiter:

Watkins Glen Sate Park

Posted on October 28, 2019 by Amber Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today, we are visiting Watkins Glen State Park! It’s a gorge FULL of natural waterfalls. You take a long trail to see all these waterfalls, its a mild/rough rating and some parts of the trails are slick due to water from the waterfalls splashing on the trail. You can walk behind some of these waterfalls, which is super cool! Definitely great for taking those aesthetic pictures for Instagram, am I right? LOL! This place was really beautiful and definitely worth visiting, one of the best parts is that it is FREE! That’s right, it’s free entry! I recommend you visit if you can!

Week In Review (Season 3 Week 17)

Posted on October 22, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Campgrounds, RV Living, Scenery, Sightseeing .

We are staying at Denny Creek Campground in Washington. We had Verizon and AT&T service which is always good.

We also took the time to walk down into Franklin Falls. The hike was almost 2.5 miles round trip. There are bathrooms at the beginning of the trail so you might wanna go then because there are not any further down the trail. The trail down into the falls was not that hard but it is not wheelchair accessible. When you get close to the falls the trail turns into a narrow rock ledge.
You could get right up to the falls but we didn’t get in the water and swim. We stayed at the edge of the pool at the bottom.

Wings Over Washington was really cool. I would definitely do that again.

The Volunteer Park was cool. I liked climbing on the trees and chasing squirrels around.

The Ferris Wheel on the pier was really cool. When you get to the top, you get a nice view of Seattle, Washington. Elizabeth wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel but at the top she was a little worried about falling but she still had fun.

Week In Review (Season 3 Week 16)

Posted on October 15, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in RV Living, Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today we at Newhalem Campground in the Cascades.
We had Verizon and AT&T 4G service.

We also visited Ladder Creek Falls. The falls looked like a ladder, they also “light up at dark”. The board at the beginning of the falls said there was 160 stairs but they “lied”. We didn’t count but it didn’t feel like 160 stairs, there was maybe 60-65 stairs.

We also made a stop at Twede’s Cafe and learned that the cafe was the R&R Diner in the TV show Twin Peaks from the 1990’s. The server was really nice and he joked with us kids. The food wasn’t the best but it wasn’t too bad. The mashed potatoes tasted bagged and bland. I don’t know how you can mess up mashed potatoes but they figured it out.

Empty Sky 911 Memorial

Posted on October 14, 2019 by Amber Posted in Sightseeing .

Today, we are visiting the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial. This memorial was two long steel walls with names written on them. The names were the people who had connections with New Jersey who died when the Twin Towers came down. It had two metal beams that actually came from the fallen towers. This place was right across the river from New York City. It was very beautiful and we enjoyed our time there.

Niagara Falls – Maid of the Mist

Posted on September 30, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today, we have the honor of seeing America’s gem, Niagara Falls! The water was super cool, and there was much to see and do. You can do a trolley tour or a boat tour “Maid Of The Mist”! The boat actually takes you right up next to the falls! You can also do the Cave Of The Winds self tour, which allows you to walk right next to the Bridal Falls on the American side. You can go to the “Hurricane Deck” and stand partly UNDERNEATH the Bridal Falls. A little expensive, as to be expected, but totally worth it.

NIAGARA FALLS – Cave Of The Winds

Posted on September 23, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today, we visited Cave of the Winds at Niagara Falls.

Up on the platforms, there was probably 3 inches of water on the wood.

My favorite part of Cave of the Winds was the hurricane deck. On the hurricane deck it felt like ice was hitting your face. Amber and I went to the corner where part of the water fall was coming down and we could feel the water from the falls on our backs and shoulders.

Although the water was cold, we had fun. What I can tell you though is that you might want a extra pair of clothes, we did not and we regretted it. Ponchos were provided with the tour.

The platforms beside the falls get taken down every year and then put back up in the spring.
