Empty Sky 911 Memorial

Posted on October 14, 2019 by Amber Posted in Sightseeing .

Today, we are visiting the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial. This memorial was two long steel walls with names written on them. The names were the people who had connections with New Jersey who died when the Twin Towers came down. It had two metal beams that actually came from the fallen towers. This place was right across the river from New York City. It was very beautiful and we enjoyed our time there.

HOW-TO Replace/Install Your RV Toilet

Posted on October 2, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in How-To .

Today, Amber and Dad replaced the RV toilet.

The toilet flusher was getting stuck due to that being stuck after we flushed. We needed to lift the lever back up and that was getting hard so with a swing of a magic wand we fixed the bathroom toilet.

The original toilet cut out in the floor wasn’t even round. The manufacturers “don’t know how to cut a round hole”.

The new toilet is much better than the old one. It has many different spots that the water comes out of around the toilet.

I really like this new toilet

Niagara Falls – Maid of the Mist

Posted on September 30, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today, we have the honor of seeing America’s gem, Niagara Falls! The water was super cool, and there was much to see and do. You can do a trolley tour or a boat tour “Maid Of The Mist”! The boat actually takes you right up next to the falls! You can also do the Cave Of The Winds self tour, which allows you to walk right next to the Bridal Falls on the American side. You can go to the “Hurricane Deck” and stand partly UNDERNEATH the Bridal Falls. A little expensive, as to be expected, but totally worth it.

HOW-TO Build A Truck Bed Platform

Posted on September 25, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in How-To .

Today, we build a truck bed platform.

The Raptor coating attracted butterflies. The Raptor started chipping away after 2-3 months. We built this platform for totes to go under and the ATV to go on top of the platform.

If you would like to try the Raptor coating, please use the Amazon affiliate link listed below.

NIAGARA FALLS – Cave Of The Winds

Posted on September 23, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today, we visited Cave of the Winds at Niagara Falls.

Up on the platforms, there was probably 3 inches of water on the wood.

My favorite part of Cave of the Winds was the hurricane deck. On the hurricane deck it felt like ice was hitting your face. Amber and I went to the corner where part of the water fall was coming down and we could feel the water from the falls on our backs and shoulders.

Although the water was cold, we had fun. What I can tell you though is that you might want a extra pair of clothes, we did not and we regretted it. Ponchos were provided with the tour.

The platforms beside the falls get taken down every year and then put back up in the spring.

WHAT WAS THAT!? ( Dried Fruit Challenge )

Posted on September 18, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Silly Stuff .

Today, we did “something different”. We did a Dried Fruit Challenge.

The fruits we tried were dried pineapple, dried kiwi, radish slices, and “Texas Rattle Snake Eggs”.

Dad, of course, with the “rattle snake eggs” scared the boogy man out of us, the pineapple was kinda sour and chewy, the kiwi was just horrible, the radish had no flavor to it all. I think you know how the rattle snake eggs went.

Trying Sarsaparilla For The First Time

Posted on September 9, 2019 by Amber Posted in Silly Stuff .

This video is from 2018 and we try a sarsaparilla drink for the first time.

Spoiler alert… it tastes very close to root beer.

Tower Falls – Yellowstone National Park

Posted on August 29, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in RV Living, Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today we visited Tower Falls, Yellowstone National Park. It is kinda north of the lake, I do recommend visiting the Tower Falls. As you see, Dad is very thirsty and wanted a drink of the nice water from the falls.

Drive Through New York City

Posted on August 26, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in Sightseeing .

Today we did a Drive Through NYC.

We took the subway through New York City and to the the 9/11 Memorial. I liked reading the names of the people that died in the Twin Towers!

We saw lots of murals and tall buildings. There was one building we couldn’t see the top!
I also liked just walking around looking at the big buildings and all of the painted walls.

We also went to all 5 boroughs which I have to say was cool.

I think it is funny how the one day we planned to go to New York City it rained on us!

We wish we could have found parking so we could walk though Time Square!

We also went to the Trinity Church in New York City.

West Thumb – Yellowstone National Park

Posted on August 22, 2019 by Kaylla Posted in RV Living, Scenery, Sightseeing .

Today we visited the West Thumb in Yellowstone National Park.

This is located in the lower area of Yellowstone. The geysers put off a lot of heat, it kinda feels like you are in a sauna. The walk around these geysers was not very long.

Mom didn’t go on this walk because we didn’t know if we could get the wheelchair through the boardwalk.

It was really cool how some of the geysers we’re kinda erupting.

It is funny how everyone was looking at one and another one across from it got jealous and boiled a bunch. We met a group of people that told us that one of the geysers is 53 feet deep.

The lake was very very pretty.

It was cool how there was one geyser with hot water coming out right next to the cold water lake.

The water that the girls and I touched was cold and it was from some of the geysers. The reason that it was cold is because it was going through a little stream which cooled the water off.
